Ford has been maintaining a segment monopoly with the ever-nearing release of the 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor. The auto industry has lacked a comparable pickup – until now. The Ram Rebel TRX Concept could be the competition the Raptor needs. Get ready for a head-to-head battle that’s sure to rock the pickup segment.
The Ram Rebel TRX Concept brings a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine that packs 575 hp and 500 lb-ft of torque. That’s the same engine that powers the Dodge Charger and Challenger Hellcats.
That engine comes mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission as well as a number of other off-road equipment and changes. As a result, the Rebel TRX Concept can conquer the toughest terrains at speeds as high as 100 mph.
“With 575 supercharged horsepower and a suspension system built to withstand an all-day hammering, the Rebel TRX concept can devour the roughest terrain at more than 100 mph and never look back,” said Mike Manley of Ram Brand-FCA Global.
Here’s the kicker: the Rebel TRX Concept moved from idea to a real concept truck in just 77 days. The TRX name comes from the package that eventually became the Outdoorsman.
We at Swant Graber Dodge Ram can’t wait to see the Ram Rebel TRX Concept rolling off the production line!
